HISTORY

rf_historyimgThe RiverFeast site is a unique venue and with it brings a wealth of historical significance – as the former Bundaberg TAFE technical Marine College in the region and also the former Bundaberg East State School.

Bundaberg East State School was opened on the site in Scotland Street in 1886, which due to growing demand moved to it’s current site further down the road in 1980. Today, the school is being used as RiverFeast offices and there are plans for expansion of this site in the future.

The site was then transformed into the Bundaberg TAFE technical Marine College facility until this then closed and moved to the Port of Bundaberg.

When you enter the RiverFeast venue, you will find most of the activities centered around the former Bundaberg TAFE technical Marine College facility. Today, the boat building shed has been transformed into an eating hall and entertainment area.

RiverFeast as it’s known opened officially on Friday 11 December, 2015 so there is much more history to be made on the site into the future.
