Bavaria in Germany is the land of beer, Oktoberfest, wurst, mountains, castles, forests and lakes. You´d only leave it to move to Queensland and that´s what Bert and Bea did. To make great beer in their own small brewery in Baffle Creek just north of Bundaberg.

Bert has been brewing all his life. He started working as a brewer in 1992 after finishing school in an apprenticeship, added advanced education as master brewer later and managed the microbrewery “Brauhaus Nittenau” in his hometown, 150 km north of Munich, for more than 13 years while Bea worked in Administration and Counseling. Besides these full time jobs their love for great beverages and food led to more and more tasting, brewing and cooking until they finally ended up with a part time farm, half a butchery and a restaurant at home in the motherland. So in 2012 they decided to start our own business  – just not in Bavaria, but in Queensland.

The Brews

Euleilah Ale


Euleilah (“You-lee-lah”) is the melodic name of the tiny spot on the map Bert and Bea call home, where Euleilah Creek meets Baffle Creek. It is an Aboriginal word, meaning butterfly, which is perfect to describe this ale: light and free as it’s low in alcohol, but a colourful beauty as it’s full of flavour.

This is the first beer Bert & Bea created in Baffle Creek and it was obvious there was a need for a midstrength beer, without compromising on taste. This is the taste of a summers day on the Discovery Coast.
With these two components – the slightly malty body and the fruity hop flavour – it goes well with everything from fish & chips to roasted meat and grilled food, but also combines great with sweet and fruity dishes.

Bavarian Helles


The name “Helles” comes from the German word for ‘pale’ or ‘bright’. A smooth pale lager based on the classic, smooth Munich-style lagers. This is a really good one, not mass produced, but traditionally crafted with the best ingredients and matured in extended periods at low temperatures.  Crafted with German noble type hops this beer is all about the perfect balance of maltiness and hop flavour. Simply smooth. Works with everything.

1770 IPA

English Style India Pale Ale

This brew is an English Style IPA which means a great hop flavour with moderate biterness. This is not a US West Coast IPA that screams hops, this is the Baffle Brew well balanced, easy drinking, strong, hoppy pale ale. Goes well with Asian inspired food – spicy and fruity and also with lighter dishes, e.g. fish.

Bert & Bea craft their beers near 1770, which is the birthplace of Queensland, where Captain Cook landed in the year 1770. Our IPA is crafted to be as remarkable as this beautiful place.

Australian Weizen


This is an Aussie take on a Bavarian speciality. Hefeweizen (yeast-wheat in English) is a very popular and traditional beer style Baffle Beers home near Bavaria. Crafted from malted barley and wheat, using a very special yeast, this is a pale, sparkling beer with a fine banana flavour (emerging from the yeast) and a refreshing tartness. In this Queensland version the lighter feeling and less cloudy appearance comes from removing most of the yeast after maturation. So this is a truly Bavarian beer, brewed the Australian way.

On the one hand great for lighter dishes. Perfect for reflecting banana flavours in a dish. Due to its gentle tartness interesting with salads.
On the other hand it also works great with hearty dishes like sausages.

ABV 4.7%




Bockbier – a malty-sweet lager with a high alcohol content – is a very traditional German beer. This dark bock combined with a Bavarian specialty from the historical brewing town of Bamberg named RAUCHBIER (smoked beer), by using malted barley smoked over beechwood to give it a slightly smoky note. A really outstanding, delicious creation.
Very malty (chocolate- and coffee-like roast flavours) and sweet – perfect to combine with desserts.

Turtle Lager

The signature lager from this local brewing company.  Smooth, crisp and full of flavour. A very good mid-strength crafted lager.

Drunk Fish

Pouring a light golden yellow colour, the Drunk Fish Pale Ale is slightly sweet and nutty thanks to the addition of locally sourced macadamia nut and bush honey. Those aromatics come through on the nose and palate due to a careful addition of hops that doesn’t overpower these subtle, delicate flavours. It’s an easy drinking pale ale with medium carbonation.

Hard Apple Cider


A refreshing semi sweet cider. Just good apples, rainwater and let the yeast do it’s thing.

From the central ranges of NSW, Bunnamagoo’s focus is on highly individual traditionally made wines. Bunnamagoo Estate Wines are the result of the Paspaley family’s long standing interest in artisinal wine making. The grapes are sourced from two of the family’s vineyards – Bunnamagoo vineyard at Rockley and the Eurunderee vineyard near Mudgee.

A no-carb lager – the first of it’s kind, Big Head pioneered the way for other low-carb beers to follow. This one does not compromise on taste though. Hiram Walker, a successful grain merchant, founded what would become Canadian Club® in 1858. Our first distillery was established in Walkerville, Ontario because of the exceptional quality of the local grains there. In those early days, if you wanted whisky, you took your own jug or bottle to the local store and filled it from a generic barrel. We didn’t care for that idea.

Our whisky was different—smooth and easy to drink and we wanted people to know who made it. So we branded our barrels with our name on it, as a signature of confidence and assurance of quality.


Canadian Club’s success and longevity can be attributed not only to the style associated with it, but also the quality of the product inside the bottle. We have always prided ourselves on making a superior whisky accessible to everyone who wished to enjoy it.

Kalki Moon


About Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing:

Kalki Moon is a family run business based right here in Bundaberg. Launched in 2017 the brand new distillery is currently producing high quality gin, vodka and liquer using local sourced ingredients.

Spirits available:

Gin Gin Mule: At RiverFeast we are proud to offer the Gin Gin Mule, which is a refreshing, easy to drink cocktail made from lime, mint, Bundaberg Ginger Beer and Kalki Moon’s Classic Gin.

Blood Moon: A refreshing cocktail of Kalki Moon’s Vodka, Bundaberg Blood Orange, Raspberry Cordial over ice and finished with a slice of orange.

Classic Liquer: Best served over ice, this liquer is a delicious blend of hazelnut, chocolate and vanilla.

Mediterranee Rivarose

This Rivarose is an effervescent wine which offers a beautiful pink dress, pale enough for the grape variety used (Syrah). The nose of this Rivarose is fresh and marked by red fruits and a note of pink grapefruit. The bubble is made nautical in closed tank.

This wine is made from Syrah and Grenache grapes. The grapes are harvested at night to guarantee a real freshness to the grapes.
The pressing is done immediately after the harvest. This pale pink hue is obtained by skin maceration. The slow fermentation is made to extract all the aromatic complexity that emanates from this vintage. The foam is made in thermo-regulated vats with stirring the lees for a month. Aging is prolonged in cellar on fermentation lees for a minimum of 5 months.
In the eye, the bubbles are fine and persistent. The nose exhales pretty aromas of small red fruits like strawberry and raspberry. The mouth is fresh and has notes of citrus and spices.



Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc

Our 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is a blend from multiple vineyard sites throughout Marlborough, with a portion from the Awatere Valley and the balance from the Wairau Valley.  Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to pressing and fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains.  The wine fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.


Colour: Light straw with green hues.

Bouquet: Multifaceted exhibiting vibrant aromas of lime zest, gooseberries, feijoas and currant with a touch of herbal infusion

Palate: Weighty mouthfeel with intense although refined flavours finishing with a  crisp, delectable acidity

Drink:  Drinking well now; this wine can be enjoyed until late 2019.  Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, smoke fish, fresh salads or chargrilled vegetables

About Ohana Winery & Exotic Fruits

Ohana is the Hawaiian word for ‘friends and family’, which is a fitting tribute to the Hawaiian holiday that encouraged Winery owners Josh and Zoe to throw in their office jobs in Perth and buy an exotic fruit orchard and winery on the other side of the country.

Ohana Winery is located in Childers, Queensland and since taking over the winery in 2014, this young couple has gone from strength to strength, creating a boutique range of medal winning tropical fruit wines and unique liqueurs.

About Cheeky Tiki Cider

At RiverFeast we stock Cheeky Tiki Cider – Ohana Winery’s refreshing take on ‘New World’ hard apple cider. Using only 100% Queensland apples the ciders are made from a blend of red table apples (Red Delicious, Royal Gala and Pink Lady). Hand crafted in small batches this locally produced cider contains no artificial colours or flavours. Available in medium-sweet and medium-dry, Ohana’s Cheeky Tiki cider is crisp and refreshing and full of fresh apple flavour….perfect for Queensland weather!




Royal Jamaican

Royal Jamaican Ginger Beer is authentically brewed with locally grown Jamaican ginger, considered to be the finest in the world. The time-honoured Jamaican recipe creates a unique, crisp, refreshing, full bodied ginger taste.

Brewed with conviction and steeped in tradition, Royal Jamaican Ginger Beer is proudly brewed and bottled in Jamaica.

Born and raised in Byron Bay, bottled in the Northern Rivers, Stone & Wood was established in 2008 with the vision to brew good beers for good times, beers that the locals, those passing through Bryon and the growing number of drinkers who appreciate good beer and would find simply good to drink.

Opening a second brewery in Murwillumbah in 2014 due to growing demand this is where most of the Stone & Wood beer is now produced with the Byron brewery home to the pilot brewery, the birthplace of limited release beers and a tasting room, where you can drop in for a beer and a tour.

Inspired by Stone & Wood’s home on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and brewed using all Australian barley, wheat and Galaxy hops, Pacific Ale is cloudy and golden with a big fruity aroma and a refreshing finish.

Brewed with a blend of pale and crystal malts, and both kettle and dry hopped with Ella, a good session beer –  Garden Ale has a citrus aroma balanced with a clean malt characters and an easy bitter finish.

Two Birds Brewing is the first female owned and operated craft brewery in Australia founded by Jayne Lewis and Danielle Allen who quit their day jobs and pursued their beer dreams in 2011. Golden Ale

Brewed using ale, wheat and Vienna malts to provide the rich, golden colour and light honey character. Motueka hops from New Zealand contribute melon and citrus aromas and flavours while Australian Summer hops deliver spice and apricot notes. This is the perfect accompaniment to the good food served by our vendors at RiverFeast.

Sunset Ale

Two Birds Sunset Ale is brewed using a distinct combination of malts including pale, wheat and Crystal malts to provide the round, rich, toffee notes. The addition of US Citra and Australian Cascade hops adds a twist of grapefruit and tropical notes to balance the biscuity malt base. This brew is round, rich and flavoursome.  An great darker ale to enjoy over the Winter months at RiverFeast.

Villa Jolanda Prosecco

About Villa Jolanda Prosecco

Prosecco is really gaining quite a strong following in Australia and why not! This sparkling white wine from the Veneto region of North Eastern Italy is dry, smooth and highly drinkable.

Villa Jolanda is extra dry and a beautiful alternative to the standard sparkling. Clean with lively aromatic apple and pear aromas, the palate is light and well balanced. With a persistent fine bead and lower alcohol this wine is traditionally a wine for celebration and is ideal as an aperitif.

Young Henrys

About Young Henrys

A desire to bring the Sydney beer scene up to speed, saw Young Henrys first brewed in 2012 and because their brews have been so popular they haven’t looked back since, recently adding a distillery to their operations. Their philosophy is on low impact brewing which means they use cans instead of bottles, give spent brewing grain back to farms close by to the brewery and look for bars and venues who adhere to their way of doing things and supporting good, local brews.

The Brews

Natural Lager

Natural Lager is exactly what the name suggests. Four ingredients go in and this beer comes out. Just hops, malt, water and yeast and its not even filtered.

Because of that, this brew has a hazy golden appearance that makes it different from most other lagers. The Natural Lager is an easy drinking beer that’s best enjoyed cold when the weather’s hot.

Colour: Hazy golden
Aroma: Subtle citrus
Flavour: Citrus with light bitterness and gentle, dry finish

ABV: 4.2%


Celebrating 150 years of Newtown – the home of Young Henry’s! This Australian pale ale is a crisp refreshing golden ale made with three different types of Aussie hops. It’s fun, fruity and even a little bitter. Best enjoyed in a sunny beer garden.

Colour: Bright Golden
Aroma: Subtle citrus
Flavour: Full bodied with a dry finish

ABV: 4.8%

Summer Hop Ale

Bursting with aroma straight off the top, the Summer Hop boasts a well rounded hop character of Pine, Rock melon, stone fruit and citrus. A solid bitterness is balanced by the gentle sweetness of Munich Malt and malted wheat while still achieving a seasonably dry finish. The crisp mouth feel and unique tropical aroma of this IPA make it the perfect accompaniment to Seafood on the BBQ

ABV: 6%

Cloudy Cider

In our Cloudy Cider it means using apples grown in orchards as close to our brewery as possible. The juice we use is pressed from a 50/50 blend of the Royal Gala and Pink Lady varieties. It gets fermented, we add some light carbonation and that’s it. Our cider contains no added sugar, syrups, chemicals or water and is gluten free.

ABV: 4.6%
